Hardwood Putters, nel golf c'è di nuovo spazio per il legno!!

Che in Italia ci sia una interessantissimo movimento artigianale di produzione attrezzature da golf di eccellenza, e nello specifico di putters, è un dato ormai assodato. Dopo le nostre visite del passato a BPutters e Menozzi Golf, siamo rimasti sempre in Emilia Romagna (come per i due precedenti produttori) e nelle ultime settimane abbiamo visitato il nuovo laboratorio e sede di Hardwood Putters.

Ci ha accolto Dario, il proprietario, che ci ha fatto da guida nella visita del suo nuovo laboratorio produttivo e ci ha raccontato la sua attività dalla nascita al giorno d'oggi, e di come sia arrivato a proporre sul mercato un prodotto molto particolare e ricercatissimo da una nicchia di giocatori e appassionati di golf.

La storia nasce qualche anno fa dall'unione di due grandi passioni, ovvero il gioco del golf e la lavorazione del legno.

Ed è proprio questa la particolarità e unicità dei prodotti di questa azienda, che è riuscita a riproporre bastoni da golf in legno, putters in questo caso, tornando ad utilizzare uno dei materiali con cui il golf è nato e che nel tempo era stato abbandonato.

Grazie alle moderne tecniche di lavorazione del legno e alle nuove resine disponibili sul mercato, è infatti stato possibile ottenere dei modelli con una resistenza al tempo e alle intemperie assolutamente paragonabile se non addirittura superiore al metallo.

Dopo una prima fase di "sperimentazione", Dario è riuscito a identificare la forma ideale per i suoi modelli, tutti in grado di poter essere fortemente personalizzati in termini di peso e bilanciamento della testa del bastone, e da li è partito il processo di perfezionamento estetico del prodotto, andando ad esaltare le venature dei vari legni disponibili in commercio e rifinendo il prodotto con numerose possibilità di combinazione a vari tipi di metallo o altri materiali pregiati.

Da un punto di vista tecnico, i putters ottenuti sono assolutamente prestazionali: il bilanciamento standard della testa del bastone permette di avere una superficie ideale di impatto per la palla superiore rispetto alla maggior parte dei putters in commercio, e la possibilità di scegliere se lasciare la faccia del bastone in legno o eventualmente applicare un layer di metallo, permette di ottenere la sensazione desiderata nel momento dell'impatto con la palla.

Ma l'attività di Hardwood non si ferma solo ai putters: la maestria nella lavorazione del legno ha permesso all'azienda di proporre anche altre interessantissime possibilità, una su tutte con un enorme potenziale e rarissima da trovare in giro.

Ci riferiamo al restauro di vecchi bastoni da golf in legno, attrezzature con 50-60 anni di vita, che vengono praticamente riportati a nuovo e possono essere riutilizzate per il gioco o possono diventare pezzi da collezione per chi fosse appassionato nel genere.
